I always enjoy returning to Briar Creek to spend time with it's quirky cast of local residents。 I appreciate the development Ms。 Cole has had throughout the series and even in this book。 I did figure out the mystery about halfway through, but it was still a fun, light read。I received an ARC from NetGalley。 The book will be released on November 2, 2021。 I always enjoy returning to Briar Creek to spend time with it's quirky cast of local residents。 I appreciate the development Ms。 Cole has had throughout the series and even in this book。 I did figure out the mystery about halfway through, but it was still a fun, light read。I received an ARC from NetGalley。 The book will be released on November 2, 2021。 。。。more
Jacque,
Ms。 Cole is running for mayor, something the current mayor is not happy about。 The library crew is having a fun crafternoon, but when they adjourn early to pick up campaign signs, they find a body in Ms。 Cole’s trunk and signs scattered everywhere。 Lindsay doesn’t believe that Ms。 Cole had anything to do with the murder, and with help from Scully is out to clear her name。 This cozy mystery was a nice balance of Lindsay checking into what was going on, without stepping on the toes of the police c Ms。 Cole is running for mayor, something the current mayor is not happy about。 The library crew is having a fun crafternoon, but when they adjourn early to pick up campaign signs, they find a body in Ms。 Cole’s trunk and signs scattered everywhere。 Lindsay doesn’t believe that Ms。 Cole had anything to do with the murder, and with help from Scully is out to clear her name。 This cozy mystery was a nice balance of Lindsay checking into what was going on, without stepping on the toes of the police chief。 The group of friends support and care about each other which, together with the well-crafted mystery, makes this an excellent choice for a relaxing read。 。。。more

Melissa,
As a huge fan of this series, I'm always excited when I see a new one pop up on NetGalley! I thoroughly enjoyed this one, as it centered on Ms。 Cole and her backstory while she runs for town mayor (she's got my vote!) Bonus points for keeping me guessing and totally surprising me with the culprit at the end ;-) As a huge fan of this series, I'm always excited when I see a new one pop up on NetGalley! Jenn,
Number twelve in the Library Lover's Mystery series has the race for mayor heating up as Ms。 Cole gains ground and the current mayor becomes more and more unhinged。 But when a dead man is found in the trunk of Ms。 Cole's car, the mayor behaves like a kid at Christmas as he tried to paint her as a murderess。 We know she didn't do it。。。。but who did? Every time a new Jenn McKinlay cozy cones out, I know I'm in for a treat and this one is no exception。 These crazy, fun characters make for a delightf Number twelve in the Library Lover's Mystery series has the race for mayor heating up as Ms。 Cole gains ground and the current mayor becomes more and more unhinged。 But when a dead man is found in the trunk of Ms。 Cole's car, the mayor behaves like a kid at Christmas as he tried to paint her as a murderess。 We know she didn't do it。。。。but who did? LibraryLaur,
Another fun entry in this cozy mystery series。 I love spending time with Lindsey and friends。 Even Ms。 Cole is growing on me。*Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an e-galley in exchange for an honest review。
Robin,
Lindsay and Sully were married in the last book, but in this one there is no mention of a honeymoon, and there is very little newlywed interactions。 Instead, the story focuses on librarian Ms。 Cole, who is running for mayor。 When a man turns up dead in her car's trunk and she falls under suspicion, her campaign is in jeopardy。 Lindsay is able to figure out who did what in time。 It is a good mystery, and I love the small-town atmosphere, but I still wanted to enjoy the newlyweds。 Thanks to NetGal Lindsay and Sully were married in the last book, but in this one there is no mention of a honeymoon, and there is very little newlywed interactions。 Instead, the story focuses on librarian Ms。 Cole, who is running for mayor。 When a man turns up dead in her car's trunk and she falls under suspicion, her campaign is in jeopardy。 Lindsay is able to figure out who did what in time。 It is a good mystery, and I love the small-town atmosphere, but I still wanted to enjoy the newlyweds。 Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley for providing an ARC。 。。。more
Janet,
Another good offering in this series。 We have Lindsey and Sully settled in to married life and no drama there。 No, the drama at the library (of course!)。 A body in a car on library property? Ms。 Cole running for mayor - and it's her car? Yes, all true and all needing sorted out。 The Crafternoon group steps up to help because they really do need Ms。 Cole as mayor。 Nasty politics get involved but no worries, Lindsey is on the case and sorts things out。 An enjoyable read in a fun series。。 Another good offering in this series。 We have Lindsey and Sully settled in to married life and no drama there。 No, the drama at the library (of course!)。 A body in a car on library property? Marcy Graybill,
It's spring in the small town of Briar Creek and the upcoming mayoral election is heating up。 When Ms。 Cole, librarian and candidate for mayor finds a dead body in her trunk Ms。 Cole isn't sure she'll be able to continue to run。Lindsay, of course, can't let Ms。 Cole get railroaded into a murder charge so she begins investigating。 The murder victim was Ms。 Cole's fiancé from 40 years ago, but that's not the only tie he has to Briar Creek。 I really feel the characters have come into their own。 The It's spring in the small town of Briar Creek and the upcoming mayoral election is heating up。 When Ms。 Cole, librarian and candidate for mayor finds a dead body in her trunk Ms。 Cole isn't sure she'll be able to continue to run。Lindsay, of course, can't let Ms。 Cole get railroaded into a murder charge so she begins investigating。 The murder victim was Ms。 Cole's fiancé from 40 years ago, but that's not the only tie he has to Briar Creek。 I really feel the characters have come into their own。 They are likable and well developed。 There's always room to grow and change, but I no longer feel like the supporting characters are just props for Lindsay。 The relationship between Lindsay and Emma is a great part of the book。 Instead of being at odds, the Librarian and the Police Chief are willing to work together, of course, with the help of Robbie and even Sully, Lindsay's new husband。 The mystery is well done and keeps you guessing until the end。 。。。more

The newest title in one of my favorite cozy mystery series did not disappoint。 With Lindsay and Sully now married, there's more focus on the mystery aspect of the storyline, this time a plot involving the body of a mysterious stranger found in the trunk of librarian Ms。 Cole's car。 Is she really a murderer, or is someone trying to frame her---maybe the town's current mayor, who is running a mud-slinging election campaign against Ms。 Cole? Hannah Monson,
The Library Lover’s series was the series that got me into cozy, for which I owe a debt of gratitude to Jenn McKinlay。 While it is no longer my very favorite cozy series, it holds a special place in my heart, and McKinlay continues to write fun, captivating stories。 The cast of characters is lovable, and with Sully and Lindsey now married, there is very little interpersonal drama or suspense, which allows for more focus on the mystery at hand。
